Bulb Planting Day on the Estate

24th October 2004
Organisers: BTCV (British Trust for Conservation Volunteers)
and FLAG (Ferry Lane Action Group)

BTCV donated hundreds of Dwarf Daffodil bulbs, for planting on the Estate this October, to rise up in the Spring. Resident volunteers planted them in the mini-Woodland and along the green area, (between Reedham Close & Erskine Crescent).

Although just a few people turned up to help, including three FLAG. committee members, (webmaster included), and the BTCV organiser, we were a very jolly team and made light work of the digging and planting. By far though, our most enthusiastic team member, was Marta - aged 2yrs. Marta was such a sweetheart and had a whale of a time popping bulbs in the holes already dug by her mum, (of course they had to be straightened up a little before covering them over).

All said and done, it was an enjoyable and productive few hours. The rain stayed off too, which is always good news.
